Important Things to find out Ahead of Buying Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was unveiled on November 10th, 2009 and had one of the heaviest launches I can even remember! I did not go out in the midnight launch, but I drove out on release day and was there 3 hours in advance of launch during the morning and there were witout a doubt 20+ men and women hanging there. Following a half hour to 45 minutes, I finally obtained my copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for the PS3 system and off I went to invest the majority of my week ranking up as quick as I possibly could.
So before I start, I just want to express that I'm a huge fan of Call of Duty 4, but I tried to help keep this review from the opinion of somebody who hasnt played any of the Call of Duty games or an individual who didnt really like the past video games in the Call of Duty series. I wouldnt think of myself a Call of Duty fan-boy, but I was set on paying forCall of Duty Modern Warfare 2 back when Call of Duty 4 was released.
As most of you by now understand or know, I rarely actually buy games that really don't come with some form of multi-player and usually will only acquire games for the multi-player aspect, but I did actually play the total single player campaign in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and I have to say that I did take pleasure in it even when playing through a second time. The story was real, it absolutely was a little difficult to understand at times, but it tied in relatively efficiently with exactly where the story left off in Call of Duty 4 and presented solutions to a variety of unanswered questions.
Really the only point I surely did not like concerning the single player campaign in Modern Warfare 2 was that, for the most part, it had been relatively at the hardest difficulty setting. Now, I did not say always, because that's absolutely not true, there were occasions in which I got fairly aggravated for the reason that there were just so large a number of enemies at once on just about every side and it made me tremendously irritated, but other than that, the single player campaign was rewarding and plus a refreshing new game to play through.
As far as the controller layout goes, it's exactly the same as in Call of Duty 4 and it absolutely was great for that video game and is nevertheless totally flawless now. So far as Im concerned, the control scheme selections in COD4 and MW2 are the greatest layouts that have ever been put together for any video game. There are actually a couple of other layouts which you can select from and all of those control schemes are great as well. Some of the optional layouts take just a little while to get used to, but when youre used to the new controller layout, youre unstoppable!
Now comes the part which you all have been patiently waiting for! My feedback regarding the multiplayer aspect of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2! So after putting in over 360 hours of online performance, I believe I can give a pretty nice overview of what it is all about. For the most part, everything is far better balanced. The maps are laid out tactfully, and most of the perks and weapon attachments work fantastic. This being stated, there are constantly negatives to go together with the positives. Now, dont get me wrong here, Im not going to go over everything that is suitable in this online game, since it would take too long. Instead, I am going to try and go over some of the main faults in the online element of this online game, because of the fact that I feel this would be a bit more valuable to possible buyers and/or prior owners.
Here we go, lets get started now on the negative elements. So far as I am concerned, 1 man army is really the only questionable perk. On its own, there is nothing wrong with it, and it can be pretty beneficial depending on your state of affairs, but implemented while in the hands, it can be used in an highly frustrating way that will make anyone prefer to basically beat their controller until the pieces quit flying.
Next up, we have death streaks. To just be up front and direct, being rewarded for dying, in my opinion, is just stupid. There really should be no need for this if the spawn feature was efficiently thought through, which, unfortunately, it most certainly just isn't, but if you are making use of death streaks for anything but to eliminate the bad spawn function, then you have no excuse, you are definitely a noob.
On that note, I may as well touch on the spawn system seeing as I previously opened that can of worms. While not getting into an enormous rant, essentially the spawn function operates nicely in most cases, but on the occasion, it succeeds just about as well as an Xbox 360 with the RROD. It doesnt assist you at all, it causes you hard core aggravation, and it makes you want to hurl your console out the window of a 3 story or higher building. Im extremely positive that that would be pretty much all I have to say about that, simply because if youve played a suitable quantity of games and online game varieties, you know exactly what Im verbalizing about.
One other thing that performs just like that, would be the matchmaking feature. The video game automatically decides what lobby it is going to put you in. This means, you could be set in a lobby that has 10 seconds left within your game and it is literally hopeless for you to win. This genuinely aggravates me to no end. Theres no simpler method to devastate my joy to just take it easy and play some Modern Warfare 2 then when I start it up and enter a game on a team that has been just getting merced. Its not fun in any respect, in reality, most of the time if this takes place I will simply shut the PlayStation 3 system off right then and there and do anything else instead.
So far as weapons go, they are pretty significantly balanced now. Back in the start there was an enormous argument regarding the model 1887s, but thanks to all of the whiners, they got nerfed and are now about just as effective as flinging a rock at someone. In terms of the remainder of the weapons go, they're all particularly powerful and should you do not react speedily, you will die devoid of even knowing what happened.
I believe this concludes the small rant regarding the multiplayer feature of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and if you must grasp any extra regarding it, just invest in it, as it is most undoubtedly deserving of the funds.
